His Voice
through
Us Favorite Bible verse; Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast". |

Janet Seaman was born into a Christian family in Garrard, Kentucky. With a built in audience of her parents, Clarence and Oda Grubb along with five sisters and four brothers, Clarence Jr., Nadine and Pauline (twins), Lillian June, Carl Eugene, Betty Fay and Kenneth Ray (twins), Joan and Rickey, Janet began to release the song in her heart that she seemed to be born with. From the great hymns of faith that her mother would bathe over them to the popular songs of the day, Janet has always loved to sing. Perhaps as bashful entertainment for her family and friends, or a song in the classroom, a school play or even at a PTA meeting, Janet found joy in the gift that God granted her. Singing. The elementary and high school years would bring several challenges into Janet’s life and her singing was placed on hold for a while. During this time Janet recalls her teacher having the class memorize the 121st Psalm. In those first two verses was her comfort found and still is today… "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth". It was at the Moraine City Church of God in Dayton Ohio that, as a teenager, Janet would come to meet her everlasting passion…. Jesus Christ. A longing to know and serve Him would now become her heart’s desire. Janet fell in love again, this time with Ray Seaman (currently lead singer of "HIS VOICE Through Us"). He stole her heart the first time she heard him sing. His passion and love for the Lord were so evident; she knew that if they shared just a fraction of that kind of love, it would be a great marriage. In November of 1963 that "great marriage" began. Ray and Janet’s marriage has been blessed with two wonderful children, Rodney and Rhonda. While her husband’s career moved them from locale to locale, Janet too maintained a career outside of the home as well and kept one most dear to her heart… that of "Motherhood". Seventeen years of those moves to Baton Rouge and Kenner (Louisiana), Garland (Texas) and Hollywood (Florida) would lead to abundant opportunities for Janet to sing in various choirs and trios side by side with her husband. This would also be a time when Janet would enjoy the company of their children singing along with them. There were also radio broadcasts and television appearances. Along the way Janet took pen in hand and wrote several songs of testimony and her love for the Lord. "He’s Calling You" enjoyed a recorded success. In 1980 Indianapolis, Indiana would become home. For nine years Janet, Ray and Tom Linder (currently tenor with "HIS VOICE Through Us") were "The Trio" in there home church, Northside Baptist Church. Together "The Trio" has appeared at a number of area churches and revivals, Christian sponsored dinners, State Convention Meetings, Evangelism Conferences, was part of the annually televised production of "The Indiana Christmas Pageant" as well as participating along with a praise team in the recording project for the Northside Baptist Church Christmas CD. "The Trio" added Eric Shaw to the mix in 2003; hence "HIS VOICE Though Us" was formed. Janet still has a song in her heart; it’s not the one that she was born with, it’s the "BORN AGAIN" song in her heart! The good news of Jesus Christ!
