Tommy Linder, Jr. was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1949. Moss Point Mississippi is where he and his parents, Tom Sr. and Mona (and later, 3 sisters) lived until 1967.

At age 5 Tommy would begin to apply his musical interests with piano lessons. By the time he was nine he began singing with local Presbyterian Church Choir where his family attended. His strong tenor voice hadn’t quite developed yet so he sang "soprano".

During Vacation Bible School (at age 12), Tommy would make a Profession of Faith and join First Baptist Church of Moss Point, MS, a Southern Baptist Church. His family soon followed him there. From age 12 - 17 was involved with SBC graded choir programs and participated in Youth Choir, Small Group Ensembles, Solo's, and State Choir Festivals and Competitions. He was also involved with several Moss Point High School musicals and sang with High School Glee Club and Chorus.

In 1967 the family moved to Beans Corner, Maine where Tommy would attend The University of Maine and was a founding member of "The Designed Xpression", a choral group that traveled 6 months in Europe as part of winning a USO tour. The group performed at over 200 locations throughout Europe where American Armed Forces men and women were stationed. As part of the "Designed Xpression", Tommy also sang in men's quartet called "The Grimaces Four" and developed his hidden talent as being a real "HAM".

While attending Naval Flight Officers Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida 1972 – 1973 Tommy sang with the non-denominational Pensacola Naval Air Station Church choir and had the opportunity to sing solos as well. He joined the "Naval Flight Officer's Command Choir", an a cappella group of Naval Aviators that performed at numerous military, public, and educational events around the country.

Tommy was a member of and sang with Dr. Jerry Falwell's Thomas Road Baptist Church, "The Old Time Gospel Hour Choir" in Lynchburg, Virginia from 1973 – 1977 and served as Choir President for 2 years. He also sang with the "Liberty Four" quartet and sang on "The Old Time Gospel Hour" television program and traveled around the country with the quartet and Dr. Falwell representing Thomas Road Baptist Church and "The Old Time Gospel Hour". This would also allow Tommy the opportunity to sing back-up vocals with Christian recording artist Robie Hiner in numerous Christian concerts.

From 1977 – 1995 employment opportunities would have Tommy residing in Plattsburg, New York - Phillipsburg, New Jersey - Richmond, Virginia - Bangor, Maine - Burlington, Vermont – and back to Bean's Corner, Maine. These moves opened the doors for him to sing in numerous community choruses, churches, and appear in community theater musicals with significant lead parts (Oklahoma, Music Man, South Pacific, Man of La Mancha). There was also the "Barbershop Quartet Chorus " singing and a Barbershop Quartet - "Four Part Harmony" that participated in Local, District and State Barbershop Chorus and Quartet Competitions. He also held the position of Radio Station Manager for 100,000 watts Christian Radio Station WHCF in Bangor, Maine during this time.

Indianapolis, Indiana would be the next stop for Tommy in 1995 and is where he resides today along with his wife, Debbie. Tommy has two daughters, Ann and Emily, and a stepson J.C. He is a "singing" member of Northside Baptist Church enjoying lending his strong tenor voice to their choir. He has been singing with Ray and Janet Seaman (both currently of "HIS VOICE" Though Us") since 1995 as "The Trio" and has also been part of a men’s quartet since 1997. Both groups have been blessed with multiple opportunities to spread the gospel through song during "Indiana Christmas Pageants", various local church revivals, State Convention meetings, Evangelism Conferences and many other special occasions.

Along with Ray and Janet Seaman and Eric Shaw, Tommy has the joy of a "singing testimony" through their quartet…"HIS VOICE Through Us". While singing (and a funny story or a good joke) have always brought a smile to his face, the very idea that someone might come to know Jesus though their music, God’s message, brings happiness beyond measure.
